Visiting Research Scholars Program Information
The Visiting Research Scholars Program brings experts from around the world to work with Sandia staff in exploring how technology can support the development and implementation of security policy and agreements. Activities include conceptual studies and technical collaborations.
Program Description
The Visiting Research Scholars Program annually brings a small number of scholars to the CMC to explore how technology can support the development and implementation of security policy and agreements. Areas of interest include nonproliferation, counter-terrorism, nuclear material security, regional stability, and bio-security. The University of New Mexico Institute for Public Policy helps administer the program. Participating scholars are hired as temporary employees of the University of New Mexico. During their residency they have full access to university research libraries and support facilities. At the CMC, participants are provided office space, computers, communications, and administrative support. CMC staff works closely with scholars on the technical aspects of their research.
